Deepavali - Celebrates the Festival of Light and Love
The festival of lights, which is also known as Diwali or the Festival of Lights is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Indians around the world. India has always been an Indian cultural powerhouse with a rich tradition of festivals and rituals. The festival of lights is one of the most important and popular festivals for Indians in India. The festival celebrates the beauty of Mother Nature in her all-round brilliance and radiance in the form of the colorful lights that are given as gifts to all the devotees and followers of Hindu religion.
However, in Kerala, where it falls in the month of March, it is celebrated on the date that falls between the months of May and June.

Then, a lot of fireworks are lit and people dance to the music of the traditional drums and bells.
People decorate the temple entrances with lotus petals that represent Lakshmi. They tie Kala (tissue paper) or silk garlands around the temple doors to offer prayers. A lot of firecrackers are also lit in the evening and people exchange sweets on this occasion. A huge boat called Vatika (floater) is moored at the entrance of the temple and people can visit it on this occasion.
During this day, people pray for the success of Krishna and Goddess Lakshmi. The devotees wish them many blessings and long life. They also thank God for the prosperity that has been provided them. These people make offerings to Lord Krishna and Goddess Lakshmi on this day.

Diyasav Diyasava
The Indian festival called Deepavali has been celebrated since many years by many Indians and across different parts of the world as a part of the Diwali celebrations. Deepavali celebrates the union of Lord Krishna with his consort Radha on the auspicious occasion of Radha Sankranti or Radha's day on September 17th, followed by the bestowing of gifts by Lord Krishna to Radha on this day.
The celebration is celebrated in all Hindu households irrespective of their caste, religion or social status. It is the traditional way of celebrating and appreciating the bond between the Goddess and her consort Lord Krishna. Since the start of celebrations, people of India have taken to decorating their houses, cars, temples and other places with lights to mark the importance and joy of this important occasion.
On the main theme of Deepavali, one can find different types of Diwali lights for the purpose. The most important type is the Diyasav. This is one of the biggest lights used to decorate homes. The Diyasav can be used in a number of ways.
The Diyasav is a kind of candle lantern that is used as an illuminating feature in the house, streets and gardens. They are made up of colorful plastic that gives a nice look to the place and at the same time adds to the fun of lighting up the place. There are various kinds of diyasav available in the market. Along with the diyasav, other Diwali lights include the Dhananaj and Bhai Dooj. The Dhananaj is a small, lighted candle made up of a piece of cloth fabric that looks like a traditional diet. It is placed under a flower vase and is lit up on this auspicious occasion. The Bhai Dooj is a larger sized candle which is placed over the body of the deity, known as 'Bala'. It is lit and burned while the devotee chants special mantras to welcome and worship the deity.
The Diwali celebrations are celebrated with all the family members and friends celebrating the bond between Radha and Krishna and lighting up the Diyasavs as well as Bhai Dooj as part of their celebrations. For the last few years, there are different types of Diwali lights available in the market which are available for purchase and gifts to the guests who attend this great festival.
